Privacy Policy

JoinedIt ("JoinedIt", "we", "us") helps people find communities, organize events and connect. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. JoinedIt is currently offered as a free pilot.

Information we collect

• Account information: your email address and password (stored as a secure hash by our authentication provider), or the basic profile your sign-in provider shares if you use Google or Apple sign-in.
• Profile and community content: profile details you add, organizations and Spaces you create, events, RSVPs, posts, comments, polls, announcements, messages and images you upload.
• Event chat: messages you send in event chats, visible to that event's attendees and organizers, any reports you make about messages, and the people you block (blocking is private: the person isn't told).
• Event registrations: RSVPs, tickets and passes, answers to an organizer's registration questions, session choices, waitlist position, check-in times, your personal check-in code (a random code that organizers can scan to check you in at events that accept it), volunteer shifts, ticket transfers you make, and feedback you give after an event.
• Notifications: your notification preferences, language and time zone, and the notifications we send you. If you turn on text messages, your mobile number (verified with a one-time code) and the texts we send. If you use the JoinedIt app and allow notifications, a push token that identifies your device to the notification service.
• Mobile app: the app stores your session and the passes you open on your device so they work without a connection. It uses the camera only when you check attendees in, and scans pass QR codes on the device; no images are uploaded or kept.
• Usage and device data: aggregate page views and feature usage without persistent identifiers or advertising cookies; performance metrics; and error reports with personal data removed before they are sent.
• AI features: text you submit to AI-assisted planning or support tools, which is sent to our AI provider to generate a response.
• Payments (when enabled): ticket purchases are processed by Stripe. We receive order status and amounts, never your full card details.

How we use information

• To provide JoinedIt: accounts, communities, events, RSVPs, chat, invitations and notifications.
• To send service emails you request or that are necessary (confirmations, password resets, invitations, event reminders and organizer messages). You can turn off notification emails at any time.
• To keep JoinedIt secure, prevent abuse, fix errors and improve the product using aggregate statistics.
• To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Who can see your information

Content in public Spaces, including event details, may be visible to anyone and to search engines. Content in private Spaces is visible to that Space's members and organizers. Organizers can see the members of their Spaces. For events you register for, the organizer can see your name, email address, ticket, answers to their registration questions, session choices, check-in status and feedback, and can export this as a spreadsheet to run the event.

Service providers

We share information with providers that process it on our behalf under contractual confidentiality and security obligations: Supabase (database and authentication), Vercel (hosting, cookieless analytics and performance monitoring), Resend (email delivery), Sentry (error monitoring), OpenAI (AI features), GitHub (bug reports you choose to submit), Stripe (payments, when enabled), Twilio (text messages, only if you turn them on), Expo, Apple and Google (push notifications in the JoinedIt app, only if you allow them) and Zoom (online events, when an organizer connects their Zoom account: your name and email are sent to the organizer's Zoom account to register you for the meeting, and Zoom tells us when you joined and for how long so the organizer can see attendance).

Cookies

We use cookies that are strictly necessary to keep you signed in and to remember your language. Our analytics are cookieless and do not track you across sites.

Retention

We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your profile, memberships, RSVPs, posts and notifications. Records you created on behalf of a Space you organized (such as events) remain with that Space's organization. Purchase records may be kept as required by law. Backups are overwritten on a rolling schedule.

Your choices and rights

• Update your profile, language and notification preferences from your dashboard.
• Delete your account at any time from your profile page.
• Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export or delete your information, or to object to certain processing. Contact us at privacy@joinedit.com and we will respond within the time required by law.

Security

We use encryption in transit, access controls enforced in the database, least-privilege service credentials, and monitoring. No system is perfectly secure; please use a strong, unique password.

Children

JoinedIt is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their information.

International transfers

Our providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers.

Changes

We will post updates here and change the effective date. For material changes we will notify you by email or in the app.
